ANNOUNCING
CCAF’s Communications Access Fund Grants!
The California Communications Access Foundation (CCAF) is now accepting applications for its Communications Access Fund Grants. The CCAF Communications Access Fund will award grants to community-based nonprofit or educational organizations in California which establish projects and programs designed to improve existing services or technology or encourage new services or technology that will make spoken, verbal or signed communication easier for people with disabilities, including people who are seniors. The services or technology must assist people with disabilities or seniors to communicate, and can be “high tech” or “low tech,” or anything in between. Grant amounts are anticipated to range from $10,000 to $100,000, with approximately $1 million available for competitive grants in 2012 and 2013.
CCAF is a nonprofit corporation based in Oakland, California. We are a State of California contractor, operating the Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program, which consists of the California Telephone Access Program (CTAP) and the California Relay Service (CRS). Our employees work throughout California.
CCAF’s Board of Directors is committed to furthering our work in the area of communications access and to supporting organizations and projects with that common goal. CCAF has established a Communications Access Fund to provide assistance to organizations and individuals who are currently operating programs that focus on communications access or who would like to develop new programs for this purpose.
Applications for funding assistance are due on January 16, 2012, and must be for a 12-month performance period.
